Facility Use Policy: Marian Shrine

Note: throughout this document, the term “Shrine facility” includes all of the buildings and the entire property of the Marian Shrine.

General Use Policy for Groups:

  • We ask groups of fifteen or more to make reservations for any planned visit by calling the Administrator’s Office at 845-947-2200 ext.313. Be sure to inform the Administrator’s Office as soon as possible if there is a change to/cancellation of a  reservation.

  • Every group and organization must abide by the Archdiocese of New York’s guidelines, requirements and other restrictions regarding usage of church facilities.

  • Groups may be required to sign a Hold Harmless Agreement. A certificate of insurance may also be required.

  • All requests for usage are subject to approval by the Salesians of Don Bosco, Stony Point, NY.

  • Please respect all spiritual activities taking place in the main Mary Help of Christians Chapel, other Chapels on the property, the Shrine Outdoor Altar, Our Lady of the Rosary Park and all other devotional areas.

  • We expect all groups to leave the facilities and grounds clean and undamaged. Users are responsible for any damages to buildings, grounds, parking lots, statues, signage, structures, and any equipment due to their use of the facilities.  Users may not take tables, chairs, or other items from other rooms and/or areas of the facilities.

  • All portions of the entries, doors, vestibules, halls, corridors, elevators, and stairways to the facilities must be kept unobstructed and must not be used for any purpose other than to enter or exit the buildings.

  • Use of the sound systems and Pianos is permitted only under the supervision of  the Marian Shrine approved sound personnel and knowledgeable participants in contracted events.

  • Adequate adult supervision must be provided for any events that include children.

  • The Marian Shrine facility may not be used for commercial purposes.

  • The rights to all concessions are reserved by the Marian Shrine; no group or individual will be permitted to sell soft drinks or food for consumption on the premises.

  • Users agree to release, protect, defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Salesian Society Inc. DBA Marian Shrine, the Salesian Community of Stony Point and its administration, employees, members and other representatives from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, actions, costs and expenses (including, without limitation, reasonable attorney’s fees and other legal costs) directly or indirectly arising out of their use of any Marian Shrine facilities.

Church Etiquette for Individuals and Groups:

  • MODEST DRESS IS APPRECIATED: Please show the proper respect for the sanctity of these sacred spaces.

  • DURING WORSHIP SERVICES:  Anyone is welcome to attend and participate in our worship services. Please note, however, that Holy Communion in the Catholic Church is restricted to members of the Catholic Church.

  • NO FOOD OR BEVERAGES are permitted in the any Marian Shrine Chapels.

Shrine Grounds Guidelines for Individuals and Groups:

  • No screaming or yelling — please respect the serenity of this sacred space.

  • Help us keep the grounds clean by throwing all garbage into trash cans.

  • Please respect our system for recycling as we follow local protocols and that of the Don Bosco Green Alliance.

  • Loud music, profanity, and other noise disturbances are not allowed.

  • To maintain the safety of visitors, all unauthorized drones and other unmanned aircrafts are prohibited.

  • No alcoholic beverages or drugs are permitted on the property.
