Vocation

The Lord may be calling you to follow Him in the Salesian Family in its style and mission to the young and the poor like Don Bosco. The first step is to discern the feelings in the heart and explore the different choices with a spiritual guide.



The Salesian Community of Priests and Brothers at the Marian Shrine is ready and willing to help you in this process and discovery.  There are a variety of possibilities::

1. Explore Salesian priesthood and brotherhood to see if dedicating your whole life to the young and the poor and living in a community setting in the style of St. John Bosco is for you.

2. As a young woman, consider the Salesian Sisters, the largest congregation of women in the world, doing the work of Don Bosco in a marvelous way.

3. Become a Salesian Cooperator, lay persons of all walks of life who, through a two-year discernment process, make a Promise to live the Salesian spirituality and make themselves available for service or ministry using the Salesian way.

3. Serve as a Salesian Lay Missioner for a year or two in the U.S.A., perhaps right here at the Marian Shrine working with young people in our retreat programs, or in a foreign country.
