Welcome to the Marian Shrine
The Shrine of Mary Help of Christians
The Marian Shrine offers both day and overnight retreat programs for youth and adult groups. Some specialized programs are offered in adult ministry for educators, parish ministers, clergy, religious, married and engaged couples, as well as recovery programs.
Located on a beautiful
160-acre wooded property, the Marian Shrine is home to several religious monuments. Enjoy the open land or meditate by one of our many shrines as you take time to pray and reflect upon your retreat experience.
Camp Don Bosco
A summer day camp with a program of supervised, formative and recreational activities for a variety of interests. Nurturing our campers in the Salesian family environment, we strive to develop individuals who will become outstanding future leaders.
ABOUT THE SHRINE
The Marian Shrine was originally purchased from Walter Herbert Filor, a wealthy stockbroker's estate in 1945 to be used as a high school seminary for young men training for priesthood. In 1971, the provincial Father John Malloy built the current retreat center house which contains 54 rooms. The shrine consists of over 40 statues, with the biggest one being the Rosary Madonna standing at a commanding 48 feet tall.
